These classes focus on joy, creativity, and community while encouraging independence and confidence in every dancer.
Class Features:

Small class sizes
All children are seen as individuals
Low-stress, positive atmosphere
Grown-Up Participation:
Parents/guardians should stay in the waiting area in case support is needed, though we encourage dancers to participate independently whenever possible.
Goals:
Build strength and muscle control
Explore movement and musicality
Introduce fundamental dance techniques
Expand social skills and group norms
Grow spatial awareness and relationships
💡 If you need help funding an aide or additional support, we partner with the Inclusive Arts Alliance (IAA) for assistance.
Regular Classes with an aide
For dancers with disabilities who wish to experience a traditional class environment with added support.
Before the Trial Class:
Email or text MIDC at least 3 days in advance to schedule a trial.
Secure a helper (an aide is preferred, though a parent/guardian is welcome).
The aide must stay in the room for the first class and assist with redirection or participation as needed.
After the Trial Class:
Contact MIDC to discuss how it went.
Together, we’ll decide whether the class is a good long-term fit.
If your dancer joins, continued aide support will be required.
Goals:
Strengthen coordination, balance, and flexibility
Learn core dance techniques
Develop social and teamwork skills
Increase confidence and independence
💡 Funding assistance for aides is available through IAA and Alta Regional Center.
